Strange Dreams

Last night I dreamed that I was in a public "shooting" gallery, except that what was being shot were streams of radiation, and the targets were all women (including America Fererra and four of her lookalikes!?). The guns shot frightening ray-gun like stream of radiation towards your body while people watched in what felt like the equivalent of an ice rink the middle of a mall. The victims/patients had to show up in nothing but their winter coats and then walk out in front of the shooters. It was my turn and I was being coaxed to walk into the shooting area, naked, in public, and subject myself to shooting rays of radiation. All while being told "it's not that bad!' and "it will help you get better!".

As I originally described this dream in an email to my friend Tamiko, it occurred to me that the dream could also be interpreted as a metaphor for academia (PhD exams, defense, and tenure, anyone?).
